Electric Boiler Simple Introduction

An electric boiler is equipment that uses electricity to heat water for heating and daily hot water supply. It needs no coal or natural gas. It converts electric energy into heat energy to warm water. The heated water circulates through floor heating or radiators to keep rooms warm, and it can also supply hot water for bathing and daily use.

1. Working Principle

The principle is simple. When powered on, the internal heating parts generate heat to warm the water in the tank. Then the hot water circulates into indoor pipelines through a water pump to realize whole-house heating. There is no open flame or exhaust smoke during operation.

2. Common Types

  1. Electric heating tube type: Low price, simple structure, widely used for families with high cost performance.

  2. Electromagnetic heating type: Water and electricity are separated. It is safer, hardly produces limescale, durable and power-saving, with a slightly higher price.

  3. Semiconductor type: Small size and fast heating speed, suitable for small apartments and small-area heating.

3. Main Advantages

  1. Environmentally friendly and clean: No smoke or waste gas, no pollution. It can be used in urban communities and rural areas.

  2. Safe and hassle-free: Built-in protection against electric leakage, dry burning and freezing. It supports automatic temperature control with no need for manual operation all the time.

  3. Easy to install: No gas pipeline or chimney needed. It takes little space and has wall-mounted and floor-mounted styles.

  4. Intelligent control: It can be timed, temperature-set and remotely controlled with simple operation.

4. Disadvantages

  1. High power consumption: The daily operating cost is higher than that of natural gas.

  2. Circuit upgrading required for high power: High-power models need three-phase electricity, and circuit transformation may be needed for old houses.

  3. Unable to work without electricity: It stops running once power is cut off.

5. Applicable Places

It is suitable for rural self-built houses, communities without natural gas, small apartments, villas, stores, factories, farms and greenhouses. It can be used for winter heating and all-year domestic hot water supply.

6. Simple Purchase Guidelines

  1. Select power by area: About 100 watts per square meter for ordinary houses; choose higher power for old buildings with poor thermal insulation.

  2. For household use, electromagnetic type or branded electric heating tube type are recommended for safety and durability.

  3. Choose formal brand products with multiple safety protections for guaranteed after-sales service.

7. Usage Tips

Setting room temperature at 18-20℃ is comfortable and power-saving. Sealing doors and windows well can save electricity. Clean the filter and limescale every year to prolong the service life.
